Savage Model 1895
Produced from 1895 to 1899
Made in .303 Savage, the rifle was initially made as a military arm, with the idea of a sporting arm coming later. It featured a hole in the bolt so that the shooter could see the firing pin. The pin was marked with a "C" for "cocked" and an "S" for "Safe".
The musket configuration was quite heavy and it was not popular with sportsmen.
